Meet Leslie Price
I’m Leslie Price - a lifelong learner and instructional designer with a foundation in education and a passion for creating impactful, performance-driven learning solutions.
With a background in music education, I have a keen sense for analysis, adaptability, and learner-focused design. My experiences have taught me how to structure information clearly, respond to learner needs in real time, and guide people toward lasting understanding - skills I now apply to instructional design with intention and care.

How I Work
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Every effective learning solution starts with asking the right questions. I begin with a thorough analysis – that means listening closely, identifying performance gaps, and mapping actions to outcomes. I don’t jump into design until I understand your needs and why. To ensure alignment with your business goals, I consult with your team at every step.
Once the goal is clear, I design with purpose. I write focused, measurable learning objectives, while still using Bloom’s Taxonomy, and craft engaging storyboards that reflect adult learning principles. I build in practice opportunities, not just present information, because real growth happens when people take action.
In development, I apply Mayer’s Principles of Multimedia Learning to make sure the experience is clear, accessible, and thoughtfully designed. And I bring in Gagne’s Nine Events where it makes sense – to capture attention, build and reinforce understanding, and guide learners forward.
Each stage of the process is always collaborative and iterative, because your input is not only welcomed but crucial. Together, we ensure that the final product is not only rooted in the art and science of learning design – but tailored to your learners and goals.
How I Play
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
I have a passion for world travel and immersing myself in culture and music. Volunteering abroad has taken me from building a playground in Haiti to teaching math to children in India. Closer to home, I explore California’s sea caves, tide pools, red rocks, and waterfalls. In the city, I’m often hunting for the best Northern Thai khao soi or Indian thali - or playing the surdo in a Brazilian samba band. Occasionally, I pretend I know how to ride horses or roller skate down the coast (gracefully or not).
These adventures shape how I see learning: full of discovery, color, and rhythm.
I've always believed that curiosity, courage, and a sense of wonder are essential – not just for travel, but for learning too. My experiences are a testament to the power of courage and can serve as an inspiration for others.
Now, let's get back to business.
As an instructional designer, I bring that same spirit of exploration to every project I take on. I ask thoughtful questions, dig into what learners really need, and design experiences that make people think, engage, and grow. Whether I'm crafting storyboards, mapping performance goals, or building out content with learning science at the core, my process is both strategic and deeply human-centered.
Behind every module I design is the same approach I take to life: lead with curiosity, learn with intention, and never be afraid to try something new.
